This is Chin Injeti…. A native of Toronto, now a transplant in Vancouver and at times Los Angeles.

In Toronto CHIN was a founding member of the ground-breaking group Bass is Base. A Juno award-winning group that paved the way for many Canadian urban artists. Having toured and shared the stage with the likes of James Brown, The Fugees, The Roots, A Tribe Called Quest, Nelly Furtado and The Marley Family and also being a recipient of a songwriter of the year Socan award and a Much Music Video Award, CHIN has established himself as a mainstay in Canada as both an artist and producer.

Fast forward to the present, CHIN has swapped his surrounding from the concrete jungle of Toronto for the lush rainforest setting of Vancouver. With his move out west Chin would continue to thrive as an artist but would see a major breakthrough as a producer. As a production partner with fellow west coaster and L.A. based producer DJ Khalil (Aftermath Productions) CHIN has been producing and working with everyone from Dr. Dre, Nas, Talib Kweli, Organized Noise (TLC, Outkast), Busta Rhymes, Clipse, Esthero, Kinnie Starr, Hot Hot Heat, Bedouin Soundclash, The Canadian Tenors and Zaki Ibrahim just to name a few. Although he has produced and worked with a variety of artists it has been his work in the hip-hop world that has started to garner him more prominent recognition as of late.

In 2009 CHIN produced for two of hip-hop’s biggest stars on a track called “Could’ve Been You” by 50 Cent ft. R.Kelly plus the song “Fear” from fellow Canadian sensation Drake! CHIN would go on to work with one of hip-hop’s top duos the Clipse on their lead single “Kinda Like A Big Deal” feat. Kanye West plus “There Was A Murder” on their much anticipated release ‘Til the Casket Drops’. Intertwine the release of his own solo record ‘D’tach’ that same year and one sees that CHIN clearly lives music.

2010 served as a huge year for CHIN highlighted by his work with the world’s biggest rap artist Eminem! On Eminem’s multi-platinum selling ‘Recovery’ Chin wrote and performed on “Almost Famous” and “Talkin’ 2 Myself”. CHIN’s catalogue of work would continue to grow that year having co-wrote and produced a song called “Ansomnia” by Zaki Ibrahim that appeared on the major motion picture soundtrack for Tyler Perry’s “For Colored Girls” which starred Janet Jackson.

CHIN not only created outstanding music in 2010 but also gave back to his passion through charitable work. Earlier in 2010 Chin was asked to participate in the Young Artists for Haiti project that saw many of Canada’s most talented artists get together to record ‘Wavin’ Flag” by K’naan. The remake of the song produced by legendary producers Bob Ezrin and Garth Richardson would go on to raise significant funds to help those affected by the devastating earthquakes that had hit Haiti. CHIN’s relationship with Bob Ezrin and Garth Richardson would flourish from there on as CHIN was asked to teach a series of production workshops at the Nimbus School or Recording Arts co-founded by the two iconic producers.

With tons of momentum carrying him into 2011, Chin started off the year with a bang when Eminem won the Grammy for Best Rap Album of the Year! Just recently in Spring 2011, CHIN released an EP of reworked songs entitled “Re’tach.”
